Im 14 and i want a change how do i start and how do i tell my parents?

ive wanted a change for while and i dont know how to tell my parents i have the money for it but my parents probobly would think im nuts i dont know what to do? i not sure that theyll take it seriosly and that they will say suck it up and i dont want to wait to long because i want one at least before im 20
